What is your favorite Christmas Movie?

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

It finally feels like Christmas is in full swing around here! We started decorating our house (going on a thrift store hunt today to look for little Christmas trinkets that I can spray paint silver), lights are up, Christmas cards have been ordered, fudge has been made (and eaten) and we are getting our tree this weekend.

During the Christmas season the only thing that is on our TV, other than the occasional Tivoed episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (I'm obsessed with that hot mess of a show) is Christmas Movies. I am pretty sure we have seen every single one a million times but they never get old.

My top three Christmas movies are:

1. Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation
2. A Christmas Story (its tradition to watch this every Christmas Eve after church)
3. Home Alone

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

On a side unrelated note: Pregnancy hormones are no joke. I cried last night because my husband brought home the wrong salad dressing. Who likes Chunky Blue Cheese dressing anyway? Not this crazy pregnant lady. Poor guy.

My fave Christmas movies have to be the Santa Clause movies. It seems like every weekend, I'm at least watching one of them - if not all 3.

1. Elf
2. Christmas Vacation

Are my favorite two. Sorry about the dressing, been there, done that. :) At least these husbands of ours try hard to please us. :)

1. The Santa Clause
2. Charlie Brown Christmas
3. Elf
4. Christmas Vacation is a new fave of mine (thanks to the bf!)

I have a soft spot for all the old ones too like Rudolph, Frosty, and The Grinch

1.) Christmas Vacation
2.) Elf
3.) Home Alone

When I was preggers I told my husband not to fart in front of me because my senses were so out of wack and one time he did and all hell broke loose! Darn hormones!!

thought you would like that story ;-)

Christmas movies are the best! I love White Christmas, Home Alone, Miracle on 34th Street, the Holiday.... but basically anything!

Chunky Blue Cheese? I would've cried too. Chunk = gross!

Elf, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone. I think I could watch Elf over and over - that movie gets me every time! We're hoping to do a movie day here soon.

haha well at least you had something to cry about, the other day I started crying for no reason and my husband kept trying to figure out what was wrong...I told him I didn't know, and I really didn't :)

I have so many favorite Christmas movies, but I if I had to chose one it would be the old claymation Rudolph, just because it brings back so many fun childhood memories!

Me and the hubby love us some Chevy Chase! Its my ring tone all year long actually,
"Why is the carpet all wet TODD?, I don't KNOW Margo!?"
For the sound track and house envy, Home Alone is all time fav!

HA. I'm with you about the salad dressing. Probably would have cried and I'm not even pregnant. I do love the Muppet Christmas Carol I have to say. And Christmas Vacation, I mean you can't go wrong. xo

Definitely A Christmas Story & Christmas Vacation from my childhood. Also a tradition in our home. And in more recent years, ELF. With Zooey D., Will Ferrell and an adorable plot, you can't go wrong.

Hey, you're pregnant. You have every right to cry. At least you can use it as an excuse, right? :)

The Christmas story is by far my favorite! Some of the scenes from the movie were shot near my hometown so you couldn't grow up in that state without ever seeing that movie...I'm pretty sure they would ban you!!!

Heather @ Finding Beauty in the Ordinary said...

It's not really a Christmas movie, but so much of it is centered around Christmas... "Little Women"! :)

Home Alone has been my favorite since I was little - and it still is!
I also love The Holiday, so beautiful ♥
Love Actually is also very nice :)

but there are tons of good movies out there, so hard to choose!

LOL. IIII like chunky blue dressing! :o) I've only had one crying melt down so far and it was just a couple weeks ago. I ended up on the floor in the bathroom with my kids asking asking me what was wrong and trying to console me. I think that's the only time they've ever seen me cry. Yeah, good times.

My all-time favorite Christmas movie is hands down White Christmas. Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney?! How could it get any better?!
