Our Real Life Fixer Upper: Demolition Time!

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

As of this week we have officially started demolition at the barn...yeay!  The first things to go are the horse stalls, and since we plan on repurposing all of the wood that is lining the stalls it's more of a careful demolition but nonetheless it's still so much fun to watch it slowly start to transform into our home.  This whole process takes some serious vision, but I'm pretty sure we've got plenty of that.

Here are a few pictures of what is currently happening at the barn...

The space already feels so much bigger and brighter, making it just a little bit easier to envision where everything will eventually be going.

That must be a newer built barn. All the wood looks so pretty and clean!

That looks like such a well-built barn, so I'm sure the demolition was tricky. I'd like to take on some project like this at my home, but I don't know if I trust myself to do the tearing-down work. It's probably best to leave that up to the professionals if you're like me and you don't have any experience. http://www.honcdestruction.com/

Gerald- it's pretty new so everything is still is great shape, which is awesome. And we definitely are not going this ourselves. We've got a great team of people who know what they are doing :)
