Our Repurposed Barn Wood Fort

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Last week my husband casually mentioned that he wanted to use up some of the leftover barn wood from our renovation to build the boys a fort.  Little did I know he was going to create the boy's childhood dream hangout. I mean... he basically blew my idea of what I had envisioned it to look like.  Okay bragging over. I just love that guy of mine.

Here are a few pictures of the their new hangout... They love it!

It's near impossible to get them to come inside now but I'm totally fine with that. Peter Pan life forever please.

I love it! And he did a great job building it! They will have so many memories created playing in it too. Are you going to put windows and a door on eventually?

So cute and fun! My cousins, my brother, and I had a fort we built in the woods on our farm-I bet it's still there! Both of your boys are adorable (obvi), but I LOVE Ronin's hair! My husband wants my 16-month old to have hair just like that, so we have not given him a haircut (driving the grandparents crazy!!). My question-how did you keep him from looking shaggy and unkempt during the grow-out phase? Once combed, when the wind blows, his little sids hang over his ears bothering all relatives but his dad and me :)

That is the best! My Dad made my brother & I a treehouse when we were younger. Made some of the best childhood memories. How beautiful your boys will have that.

Jess777- Oh it looks shaggy most of the time so I don't think I actually have a great solution other to just let it be ;)
