A Snow Day

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

One of my favorite parts about living in Southern California is that the beach and snow are all so close.  I seriously don't think I could ever leave based just on those two things.  Yesterday we all got bundled up and headed up to Big Bear for a day of snow play and a little meandering around the town.  We went to this seriously high tech sledding park where you are brought up to the top of the sledding hill on a conveyer belt.  I guess we are no longer walking our butts up the hill like I remember doing when I was little.

We all had a blast! And Max was so excited to see and play in the snow.  He kept asking us "Why are there Christmas trees in the ground, since Christmas was over?" Haha I love the way his little mind thinks. I need to get one of those books where you write down funny things your kids say.

My little butter ball was not being cooperative and smiling for the camera, but he was such a trooper the whole day.

When I was tiny, we used to cut down our Christmas tree. When I was 5 or 6 we went to a stand to buy a tree and when my father picked it up I thought he was the strongest man EVER! Christmas trees make for great stories and it looks like a great time was had by everyone!

I could go for the beach OR snow... Seriously I'd take either one. We have neither haha. Looks like such a fun day! I've given up on snow this year for us but at least we'll be getting some beach action over the summer. I'll take what I can get ;)

I grew up in Orange County...live in Chicago now. Seriously miss the snow and beach being two hours away. Awesome that you took advantage of it...jealous!

Fun! Oh, how I wish it would snow here!!! It has been unusually "warm" (aka - 40s & 50s instead of 20s & 30s) this winter and snow is looking more and more unlikely :( I guess we'll just have to venture out of the city to get our snow fix this year! p.s all great photos...but that close-up with the fur bomber is just way too cute!
