Our New Addition!

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

For Christmas Ian and I got the boys a puppy!  Her name is Molly and she is an 8 week old German Shepherd and just about the sweetest thing ever.  The original plan was to have Ian pick her up on Christmas Eve and we were going to hide her until Christmas morning.  No idea how we thought that was going to happen ha!  So when he picked her up we decided we just couldn't wait any longer and ended up giving her to the boys on Christmas Eve.  We told them we had a surprise for them in the backyard and they headed on back.  Max was jumping around with excitement and kept asking if she was ours for forever and Ronin literally cried he was so happy.  She fits in perfectly and is so mellow and awesome.

We are having so much fun with her! Here are a few pics...

Our Mammoth Vacation + Have a Merry Christmas!

Monday, December 22, 2014

Last week we took a family vacation to beautiful Mammoth and it was like we were in a real life snow globe.  We stayed at condos with a creek in the back and an endless area for snow play and sledding.  The kids (well one of them at least) had a blast.  We couldn't get Max to come inside he loved the snow so much and Ronin was happiest when he was dry and out of the snow inside haha.

Here are a few pictures from our trip...

The second day we were there it snowed!  It was pretty magical and I loved stomping around post snow in the brand new fluffy powder.

Max had his very first snowboarding lesson and he kicked butt!  It was the cutest thing ever to watch him come down the mountain and I am pretty sure we have a snowboarding lover on our hands now.

The whole skiing/boarding gang.  We went up there with my Dad, Step Mom and Brother Collin and since my Dad and Ronin were both much happier in the warm cabin it worked out perfect so we could snowboard.  There were no lines getting on and off the lifts and the top of the mountain was pretty surreal.

I can't wait to go back again hopefully soon! Best family vacation we have had to date.

I will be taking the rest of the week off to enjoy all of the Christmas festivities.  You can always follow along on Instagram if you want to keep up with the happenings.

Thank you all for reading Delighted Momma and I hope you have a very merry Christmas! xo

A Few Family Pics

Monday, December 15, 2014

Well guys it is that time of year again where I have to bribe my boys with all kinds of things in order to get everyone to cooperate and participate in family pictures.  But...I must say compared to previous years this years picture taking shenanigans were not as painful and I could not have been more happy with the whole vibe and fun-ness of this shoot.

Here are a few of our recent family pictures taken by my awesome friend and photographer Leslie...

Love this family of mine so much!

Eggnog Mug Cake (Paleo)

Monday, December 8, 2014

The holidays are in full swing around here and this weekend was pretty much awesome.  We got our Christmas tree, hung our lights, made eggnog mug cakes annddddd I got the Christmas cards ordered.  Boom!  Every year it seems like I am always doing everything at the very last minute so the fact that so much is done makes me want to shout it from a rooftop :)  And if you have not done any of this yet then I probably sound super annoying right about now haha.

Anywhoo this mug cake is by far the most moist and spongy creation that I have made to date (as far as mug cakes go).

What you will need:
  • 2 rounded tbs of coconut flour
  • 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  • dash of sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tbs of honey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbs of dairy free eggnog (regular is fine if you are not dairy free)
  • 1 tbs of ghee or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
Directions:
  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a microwave safe mug.
  2. Microwave for 2 minutes.
  3. Enjoy!

This is unbelievably good and it's basically like a Christmas party in your mouth.  You must make it!

Things That Make Me Say Yeay

Friday, December 5, 2014

Elf on the Shelf has arrived at our house and the boys have named him Smarty Pants.  So far Smarty Pants has pooped out a Tootsie Roll, toilet papered our whole living room, made a zip line with candy canes, and hijacked all of the boys stuffed animals. Being a mom is so much freaking fun.

Max opening the first chocolate of the advent calendar.  And since he wakes up before Ronin each morning he usually is the one that gets it.

Sugar cookie making.  Our reindeer cookies all turned out slightly deformed with super skinny necks and some with their necks cut right off haha...but oh well they all tasted awesome and that's the whole point in my book.

It has been raining like crazy in California.  So I finally got to wear my favorite rain boots that have been collecting major dusk in my closet all year.  YEAY!

My 90 year old Grandpa hanging out with the boys and I like it's no big deal at all.  He is so with it! You can read all about his secrets to living to 90 here.

Happy December! This is my favorite month of the year and we are getting our festive on like no other.  This weekend we are getting our tree and hanging our lights.
